How can I get email notifications/reminders on a due task on a case by case basis?
I don't want to automatically follow or get notifications for tasks...
I want to decide whether I want to get an email reminder as I'm creating the task. Is there a way to do this? (is it a matter of clicking the star/following the task? and if so, is there a way to follow the task in the create a task screen? I don't see that as one of the fields that can be chosen/added to the form.)
Same question if someone is assigning a task to me - if I have following/notifications disabled when a task is assigned to me, can we do anything so the person assigning to me can choose on a task by task basis to send me reminder when a task is due? (bypassing my default to not get notified)

Hello Andrea,
Don't use the default email reminder user settings. Instead use Workflow Automation and a custom "email notification" checkbox field for the task object.
When the checkbox is checked while creating a task, you'll get an email notification. This will give you more granular control over what tasks notify you.
