Mass linking contacts to events

I am trying to find a way to link multiple contacts in our CRM to events hosted by our organization. For example, we recently had a Q3 meeting with ~200 attendees. Is there a way to upload an Excel file with all the attendee names and have it link to an Insightly created event? If not an Insightly created event, could it be done for a project? The purpose would be so that our organization could see an individual's event attendance history within the individual's record. Given we typically have ~300-400 people at our quarterly events, individual linking would be inefficient and bulk editing, from my understanding of its functionality, would require us to manually select the attendees out of our entire contact list.

If uploading an Excel file isn't an option, is there a way to quickly create a list of specific people out of our entire contact registry?

Thanks for any help or insight you're able to provide!

  • Hi Riley,

I don't think it's possible to import events into Insightly nor relate contacts to them via import. This however can be done via the API.

Using the bulk edit linking feature you can link multiple contacts to any record type.

Projects will probably work better for your purpose and you'll be able to add notes, tasks, custom fields for reporting, etc. for that event.

You will have to create the project first and then bulk update the contact link to the project from the contact page.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Thank you,
