REPLY TO THIS EMAIL feature

Google Chrome

Office 365 webmail

I have an email within Insightly, I click on REPLY TO THIS EMAIL - nothing. It doesn't try to open a window, it doesn't try to open Outlook or any other mail client. Nothing at all.

Any ideas? I asked technical support and unfortunately the response was pretty weak unfortunately.

Much appreciated

I assume that you have set up an email account for the user under user settings?

I have tested and when I click on Reply To This Email another browser window opens with my Gmail account. So it seems to work. For me, the weird thing is that I have configured an Office 365 account so I'm not sure why it goes to Gmail but that is a different issue.

Do you not perhaps have any popup blockers that are preventing the window from spawning? That would be my first check. Normally in Chrome, a little icon pops up at the top indicating that a popup has been blocked and then you need to add the exception.

  • What I assumed was possible, and what seems to be eluding me, is that when I click on REPLY TO EMAIL it would use my Outlook web access (or whatever they are calling it these days). When I try it on a Windows machine it tries to open a client - which I don't want.

On my two Macs regardless of browser they both do the same. Flicker, and then nothing. Not sign that a pop up has been blocked or anything.

    Bit frustrating

I assume that OWA is set as your default email client in Chrome? I haven't done it but my understanding is that you need to install an add-on for this.

But the flicker you mention definitely reminds me of something that is being blocked/stopped and indicates that it wanted to do something. Are you using Safari on the Macs?

I know that Chrome is the recommended browser but sometimes when I want to test something via a process of elimination I would use Edge or IE.

The below setting is what caused my instance to start Gmail even when I had no Gmail account configured on Insightly. It is a bit weird to have the ability to use something you have not configured but a different issue.

For your problem, I was thinking that maybe the flicker you are seeing is Gmail trying to start. Since you want to use OWA try disabling this and see what happens.
