How Do Redirect Links Work?
Redirect links are links that are created within Insightly Marketing and then added to websites or content in order to track who is accessing the link. For example, a redirect link could be added to a banner advertisement or in an email. After a redirect link is created, the record will track the total clicks and unique clicks as well as which Prospects clicked the link; any clicks on the link will be recorded as an activity in the Prospect's timeline tab. Additionally, finish actions can be added to redirect links that will execute based on Prospect actions.
- For users who utilize Google Analytics, UTM details can be added when creating a redirect link.
Details Tab
Within the record of a redirect link, the Details tab can be reviewed for information regarding performance of the redirect link including total clicks and unique clicks. Additionally, users can view which URL Prospects have access to.
The Tracked URL is the destination URL that is set when creating the redirect link combined with any UTM parameters appended to the end (if applicable). Finish Actions will only trigger if the Tracked URL link is added to the HTML of the destination page.
Finish Actions Tab
Finish actions are used to automate updates from Redirect Links, Hosted Files, Form Submissions, and List Emails to other records. The Finish Actions tab displays all finish actions associated with the record. When a prospect interacts with marketing material you send them, any finish actions you’ve setup will immediately make changes to their associated record, instead of forcing users to make updates manually.
Prospects Tab
The Prospects tab displays which Prospects have clicked the redirect link. Note that any click activity will be included in the redirect links statistics, regardless of whether the destination URL id is tracked or untracked.
Prior to creating a redirect link, users should setup their Web Tracking Domain for their website and add the JavaScript to any websites that are hosting the redirect link. Insightly's JavaScript tracker script is required to be hosted on the destination URL.
Related Tab
The Related tab contains grid lists of each record that is linked to the record.
Spam
If sequence of finish actions for a redirect link is triggered five or more times in a five minute time period from the same IP address and user, Insightly will identify this as spam and cease to trigger the finish actions. For example, if the same Prospect accesses the same redirect link more than five times in a five minute period (from the first click), Insightly will not execute any of the finish actions configured for the redirect link, for that specific Prospect.
This spam check occurs for finish action sequences for redirect links, hosted files, forms, and list emails.

Add Finish Actions to a Redirect Link
Finish actions allow users to add automated activity that is triggered when someone access a redirect link. For example, if users should be notified when a redirect link has been accessed, a finish action can be added to the redirect link record that is triggered when the redirect link has been accessed and an email can be sent to any users/stakeholders to notify them of the redirect link being accessed.
Finish actions will typically occur immediately after a redirect link has been accessed and cannot be scheduled for a later date or time. They can however be assigned conditional criteria that will not allow the action to occur unless the redirect link access has met the criteria that has been set.
- If multiple finish actions have been added, they will only execute based on the Prospect's original field values. For example, if a Prospect started with a score of five and it was updated to ten as a request of the first action taken. If a finish action were to execute for Prospects with a score of ten or more, it would not execute because the score was originally five.
Finish actions will not execute if Insightly cannot identify the Prospect who accessed the redirect link.

- Click the Redirect Links button in the upper right and locate and open the record of the redirect link that requires finish actions.

For example, the Send Email finish action could require that the employee count needs to be greater than ten for the action to be triggered.
- When the finish action fields have been completed, click Save Finish Action to add it to the redirect link.
