How to add a milestone and related tasks

Use milestones on their own to track important project dates. You can connect new project tasks to them, too. Milestones are only available for project records.

You can apply a Pipeline or milestones to a project, but not both. If you don't see the Milestones subtab, it's because the project is using a Pipeline. See Using projects in Insightly.

To add a new milestone:

  1. Open a project and click the Milestones subtab.
  2. Click Add Milestone.
  3. Enter a title for the milestone and then select a date and the user who it will be assigned to.
  4. Click the Save Milestone button.

Milestones will appear in the project's milestone subtab after refreshing the page. You can edit, delete, or mark a milestone complete by clicking the three dots icon.


Milestone tasks

To add a task to a milestone:

  1. From the project, click the Actions menu and select Add New Task For Project.
  2. As you enter the task information, select the milestone which the task is related to.
  3. Click Save.
