Insightly has been very slow recently. What can be done to improve 'speed'?

The speed at which Insightly loads / posts can be very frustrating. I've been trying to keep my co-workers away from the evil S-F which is being tested - but the speed issue doesn't help. Advice please? We use Chrome so browser should not be issue.

  • Sorry to hear that Mikebowes.

Can you try the following to see if one of these options helps?

    1) Clear the cache for your browser.

    • For Chrome, go to Settings
    • Select "Clear browsing data"
    • Next to "obliterate the following items", select "beginning of time"
    • Make sure "Cache" and "Cookies" are ticked
    • Select Clear Browsing data
    • Then open a new window and try logging into Insightly again.

Here's instructions for other browsers, but make sure to follow similar steps above even if the wording is different:

    Firefox
    Internet Explorer
    Safari

    2) Please try using Insightly in a different browser. This will help us narrow down any specific browser issues. We recommend Firefox or Chrome, and making sure that you've updated your browsers to the latest available version.

    3) Try opening Insightly in a private window in your browser:
    Instructions for Firefox
    Instructions for Chrome
    Instructions for Safari

    4) Please run Insightly in a separate browser session from other websites.

    5) If you're using a security service such as McAfee or other programs, add Insightly to your list of trusted sites within those programs.

  • We've recently had issues with recent windows updates causing insightly to be unusably slow.  We rolled back the last update and things went back to normal.  Not a great long term solution, but could work in a pinch

  • Thanks Will - the problem appeared around same time as most recent update. I suspect it is related to the Windows update.

Lyla - I clean the cache regularly and have tried to various browsers. The problem persists. I suspect it's related to the windows update - you may want to have your tech support folks look at it. We are google-based (use their systems / apps as our working platform so going outside Chrome and not linking directly with gmail, g-drive etc. is not helpful).

I'll wait for the Windows fix.

  • It is impossible for a Windows update to affect the speed of a website - especially when every other website on the planet that I go to is fine AND I'm using Chrome.

This is 100% an issue with Insightly that has been going on for a VERY long time.

Today, AGAIN, Insightly is virtually unusable for me. I've done all the steps above MANY times. That is not the issue.

When is this going to be fixed once and for all?

I feel like I'm being RIPPED OFF by Insightly right now by paying for a service that sometimes I can use and sometimes I can't.

It doesn't help that Insightly's support hours are pathetic. 40 hours a WEEK? Pacific time? Seriously? Welcome to the world of 24/7. I suggest you join it.

  • I'm having problems too of very slow insighty website although all other websites have no issue.

What's puzzling is that there is no issue with accessing insightly using my Android phone chrome browser. So now I'm using my tiny phone screen to access insightlyy. It's a pain and my fingers hurt but at least the page gets loaded and updated.

  • Ron, I have been checking this further and am pretty sure the issue is with Insightly. Not sure what the 'hosting' issue is but service is terrible - and can't believe they would push me off with 'clear your cache' - I expect they know it's a problem.

  • They seem to be using Amazon for hosting so I suspect it's a poor database design issue.

  • Hi Ron and Mike,

The recent slowness issues seem to be only impacting specific machines running Windows 10 with the15063.296 build.  As you can see from the thread, there have been multiple stated possible solutions for the issue, but unfortunately none of them are working consistently for all impacted users.

Because the issue is not consistent across machines, it doesn't seem to be an issue with the Insightly account itself, but more likely it's a problem with something that interacts with the Insightly account.  We're still working with affected individuals to see if we can diagnose the specific cause of the issue, but we appreciate your patience during this process.

  • Hi Dan,

Can you please include me in this resolution?  This issue began when I did the Windows 10 update 2 weeks ago as well.  I have not been able to do my job with the speed at which Insightly has run the last 2 weeks.  Thank you

  • This windows update problem might be really serious because actually my browser on windows 10 are so slow why on my Ubuntu there is no problem at all.

And I tried on Window with Opera - Chrome - Edge - Firefox.

I don't know how and why but you Guys get Windows made. My other websites are performing without problem. And I have been late - thanks

  • Any progress on this? Has a trouble ticket been issued to the Tech team? Is anybody working on improving this situation? IS is being even more cumbersome. Need help here - been a customer since beta with one firm or another - about to pack it in and find another service.

  • Hi Mikebowes and everyone on this thread, thanks for checking in with us.

This is still being looked into as we haven't been able to pinpoint why some users are experiencing intermittent slowness or where it may be stemming from but all the information you've provided has been helpful with our investigation. We'll be in touch through this post with any updates.

  • Hi, I'm experiencing the identical issue after installing the recent Windows update (Win Pro 10.0.15063) on my 2 laptops. Insightly became painfully slow on only 1 of the 2 laptops directly after the update. Other websites seem to be unaffected but I know it has impacted other websites after a quick Googling of the issue. Keen to hear of a solution as Insightly is central to my business. Cheers Paul

  • Thanks Dan. For what it's worth, I've just discovered Insightly works perfectly (ie. it's not painfully slow) when I disable Wifi and connect to internet via my laptops internal SIM card. Cheers Paul

  • That's great news, Paul!  Hopefully this helps someone else as well.  Has anyone else tried changing the way their are accessing the internet to see if it improves speeds?  Maybe by using an ethernet cable instead of wireless?

  • Yeah, since changing the way you're accessing the Internet is a perfect solution for the shortcomings of a service that most everyone here is PAYING FOR! Unbelievable....

This right here is why we switched to Zoho.

  • A simple solution is to use the Tor Browser.

I assume because the way the Tor browser removes personal information it allows it to work smoothly on Windows. It really does work and you do not have to touch your settings.

  • Hi Everyone,

Microsoft has released an automated fix for this slowness issue on their Support site.  You can download it below:

Click here to download the fix

It seems that the recent Windows Creator's Update (1703) for Windows 10 changed some settings which negatively impacted the performance of Windows browsers on several websites, including Insightly.

You can check which version of Windows 10 you're running by going to Control Panel > System.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked on diagnosing and responding to this issue, we really appreciate it! :)

  • Amazing. After downloading the Windows update, Insightly runs super fast! I have never seen it ran so fast before.

By the way, the update is not automatic.
