*Bug* Opportunity Export- Responsible User

I just exported our opportunities, and in the responsible user field, the email addresses are listed instead of the users' names.

  • Good eye Jessica!

This is a recent update that was made to connect the exported records with an email address rather than a Name moving forward. There are multiple ways to enter a name which can get confusing for companies with data coming in from several places. An email is a unique identifier and will help with keeping data clean.

  • I'm a little confused, as the responsible user field is limited to users with a registered Insightly account, so there would be a finite number of names available.

Is there a reason that the name and email address couldn't be linked to the record? To be completely honest with you, this makes report generating and importing much more cumbersome for me, and I assume others.

  • I have fallen foul of this as well - and have to now change a number of excel spreadsheets to derive, where I can, the user from the email.  Not over happy at that.  In my mind, people are responsible for opportunities, not email addresses.

  • Andy, exactly. Importing in bulk is now painful as well, because I have to look up everyone's email addresses before I can assign opportunities/tasks/etc. It seems to me that it should be easy enough to include both name and email address if it needs to be mapped that way?

this is a very bad change, what's the logic, there's a set number of names for users in insightly, why would i need to edit my export then import it differently, this is just a hassle, not to mention it DOESN'T WORK!

when i export all my leads my column is this "User Responsible: FirstName LastName", no email in that column at all, but to import my changes back to insightly I need to edit that column, add an email in there, IN A FORMAT YOU HAVEN'T SPECIFIED, all this without notifying users of the changes or providing any details, a change no one has asked for and makes 0 sense.

way to go insightly, just when I thought it couldn't get worse.
