Converting an existing contact into a lead
Why can't I convert an existing contact into a lead? Is there a way around this without imputing the contacts information manually? I also want to avoid cluttering my opportunities with leads.

Hi Lyla & Amanda. Unless I did something incorrectly, changing from lead to contact stripped away all notes and files stored on the lead record. Did I mess that up somehow? Thanks.
Hey Julian,
When converting a lead, all information goes over unless it is a custom field that is lead specific. However, converting and changing are two different commands. Changing is used if you meant to input a lead as a Contact and need a scrub of information. Be sure to convert and this should not happen.
