Schedule email from organizations

Currently you cannot schedule an email to be sent to an email address associated with an organization.  This actually limits 2 functions - you cannot use email templates to an organization email and therefore you cannot schedule emails to an organization address.  Even manually typing the address still blocks you from scheduling the email.

I use email to place product orders with my distributors.  These go to a generic "sales@" address, not a specific rep, so it would be nice to have a pre-filled email template where I just plug in part#'s and quantity and then schedule them to send.

The bottom line is, the features exist and work beautifully for contacts, they're just blocked for organizations.  I'd like to see these features unblocked.

Thanks!

  • 100% agree with this and need it. I have Plus One'd your post here (by clicking the up arrow next to the main post), and would ask that you do the same thing on another post in this community also sharing the same thoughts...

Insightly really needs to step up and expand the functionality of their emailing system. It is a shame that they push it as a selling point of Insightly, but than when asking for improvements we are told that it is new and will take time to develop it out.

Thanks for posting your thoughts here, Mike and fredrik .

  • Agreed. We have spent so much time linking contacts to organizations, but there is no functionality! Its just a pretty database you can look at! If this is not resolved ASAP will not only consider abandoning use of the platform but complain to Better Business Bureau because I agree - the program markets using Gmail to reach contacts but you can't!!!

  • Agreed. It is confusing that one can enter an email address to organization but can't necessarily use it else where (like emailing). If email address should only attach to contacts (which makes sense), then disallow entry of email address (and other info) in organizations, so we don't unknowingly enter it there. The biggest confusion of this platform is knowing which data should be entered where, in organization or in contacts, in order to get the best benefit.

  • Yes please! Been wanting this functionality for a couple years. Organizations (Dealers in our case mainly) are the main ones we need to email through MailChimp. Contacts are merely a database of past customers that our business doesn't resell to.

  • AGREED.   When I click new email and then select to, I need to select contacts vs organizations.   For certain items, I just need to email it to the organization's main contact.

Only work around currently is to email them independently (that doesn't work for me).

believe this should get fixed ASAP, it should be a simple fix

  • Agreed. Does the community here have any suggestions on the best work around to use Organisation emails with Mailchimp?

Exporting Organisation emails and then uploading to Mailchimp?

We have 70% of our emails attached to Organisations and 30% attached to Contacts - both are usually receiving the same communication. May be a case of manually doing the 70% and using Mailchimp integration with Contacts for the 30%.

    Any advice would be appreciated!
