Automatically Log Phone Calls Placed by App

I just realized there is a glaring omission to the way that Insightly handles customer interactions.

If I use the app to place a phone call to a customer, Insightly does NOT automatically log that event.  That means that phone call never happened, unless I go into the customer, and create a new task and mark it as a completed phone call.

This seems like a one of the most basic features of a modern CRM.  Knowing when you last contacted a customer.  Especially if you use the app to place that call.

  • That's awesome, but I don't want another app on my phone, or another monthly bill.  I kind of see this as Insightlys main job.  As soon as I consider Kixie, then I may as well consider a different CRM which has this functionality built in.

  • I think Kixie is a great step. Personally (for me), I think full integration isn't always the best as it doesn't give you full choice. Inevitably, the price will go up for the CRM to support the integrated calling feature and would rather select the VOIP/Calling service I'd like to use based on my overall needs. Currently I use Ring Central and do like it.

  • I see what you mean about choice, but there again, for an app on a mobile phone, I don't need VOIP because I can use my minutes.  I suppose some may prefer it to have a VOIP option so I guess that could be part of the feature request.  The CRM price could go up, but at the moment it's falling short of what I need and if I use Kixie the price goes up anyway as I pay for two things.  Ring Central looks good, it integrates with some other CRMs :)  My phone isn't the issue for me though, my mobile works fine.

  • Hi, there has been like 2 years since the feature was pointed out, and you still didn't come up with the solution? Nice!
