Calendar - Recurring Event

When creating a calendar event, can you make the event recurring?  I do not see that drop down.

  • No, unfortunately you can not. You may want to set up a Task instead.

  • The solution by creating a "task" does not really do the trick - as it does not show up in the calendar.

It would be extremly helpfull to implement this feature

  • recurring events are a must! I just signed up and probably wouldn't have if knew this was the case. I want to use insightly for billing reminders linking to clients. If I have to add an event for each billing reminder I might as well just do it in Google Calendar as that has recurring options.

  • @Nate - Have you tried using repeating tasks for something such as a billing reminder?

    Here's how: http://support.insight.ly/hc/en-us/articles/204061634-Using-tasks-in-Insightly

    "

How do I set tasks to repeat?

Let's use an example. You want to call a potential customer about a new product line you are selling. You want this task to repeat weekly, until the customer is contacted. When adding the task, click the Repeatslist and choose Weekly from the list. When you mark this week's task complete, Insightly will create a new task one week from the current date. Once the task is truly completed, edit the task and click the X next to the repeat option to remove it."

    I hope this helps!

  • That would be OK if it would be shown in the calendar .... we do have regular WebEx Calls with partners, customers and internally - they in most cases go for one to 1 1/2 hours and are done weekly, bi-weekly, monthly ofr quarterly - those events should be shown in the calendar

  • Hi Guenther,

Thanks for the additional information and feedback. This helps us know what features are needed and requested by our users.

  • The suggestion to use tasks instead does NOT DO IT - and IT does not make it better to ignore that fact and to mention it over and over again - sorry- but recurring events are a MUST for a CRM!

  • This isn't on our current road map but please add your vote at the top if you haven't already. Your votes do help us with prioritizing possible feature updates so please vote for the things that matter most to you.

  • Yes - Pleeeeeese add the recurring event option!!! I love most features of Insightly but this has been one of the reasons I haven't switched to paid. I really want to find a solution that helps me consolidate my calendars and be able to track against projects, contacts, etc.

  • Please implement recurring events on your calendar feature.  I work with a team of Independent Contractors & I need to know their availability schedules.

  • This is still one of the most frustrating topics if it comes to "insightly" ........ the request to get this on the roadmap (and at one time done) ... keeps coming and going .... since more than one year - do you celebrate birthdays on those kinds of requests?  ;-) Propably not as you start counting the votes from scratch on a regular base.

This behavior has not stopped us from using the paid version but it is still stopping us from rolling it out to a larger number of users and to recommend it to our partners .......

Pretty strange ........ as I can not believe that it is soooooooooooooo difficult to do.

  • This should be a no brainer & at top of the "new features" list. Please implement this ASAP.

  • I would like to add my voice to the requests to have recurring events added to Insightly. Recurring tasks are not useful when you need to be able to see these on the calendar. Please implement this change, it would be extremely useful.

  • I'm adding my vote as well. This is a calendar standard. The work-around is not helpful. PLEASE add this functionality--and quickly. Thank you!

  • This gets my vote. Just spent a $1,000 subscribing to insightly and now realize there are lots of little things missing. Little things that make a big difference. How can you manage a project without recurring events? This seems a like a basic feature requirement to me. I hope this gets implemented sooner than later!

  • This is a huge disappointment not having recurring events. This is a BASIC calendar function. So far I have liked Insightly but not having recurring could make me swithc to another program. Please fix this ASAP. It is silly to have to vote to get basic calendar fixes done. I understand your priority system, but this is a huge oversight on your part and users should not have to vote to get basic features working.

  • Big fan of Insightly and have recommended it to clients.  PLEASE FIX THIS RECURRING EVENTS ISSUE so I will not regret supporting this otherwise good product.

  • I really don‘t get it - the topic is 2 1/2 years old - and the Support /PM Statements remain the same. 4 us it‘s over ..... giving up and switch to someone who Takes Customer Feedback serious. Sad :-(
