Multi select dropdown

Hi,

Can you please add a multi select dropdown option to the custom fields.

Hubspot has this option and it is very handy if a client has multiple entries within the same field.

  • We are about to go with a different database system only because Inslightly does not have multiple-selection drop-downs which is a shame since otherwise the system does everything we need... I wonder how much business you have lost because of this lack. Any date for the upgrade as mentioned above in October 2016?

  • We REALLY need this function to.  The drop down list I am currently dealing with has 35 options.  Creating dropdown lists for all of these is obviously not an option as there is only 25 available within the contacts tab. 

    I am struggling to set up this CRM the way we need it; with the two main functions I need not available.  Not being able to search on custom fields and not being able to choose multiple items from a dropdown list is proving rather tricky. 

    I am using Insightly to set up a large list of contacts who are candidates for recruitment.  I need to be able to search for candidates with certain skills and experience (without the potential for data continuity issues imposed from a text field).

    Does anyone else out there use Insightly for a similar purpose?  Do you have any decent work arounds for these issues?

  • @Jude I'm happy to report that the ability to search on custom fields is currently in development. So, it'll likely be available in your account soon (weeks, not months). We still need to put the feature through its paces in terms of testing, but we're making progress.

    @EveryoneOnThisThread The ability to have a multiple select drop downs is planned for this year. I'd like to be more specific about when it will be available, but it's difficult to do so since this improvement is dependent on the completion of other projects. Apologies in advance for this! I hope you understand.

  • Every now and then, I get a notification that yet another person has +1'd this feature request that I've been begging for since soon after implementation. The fact that you don't have radio buttons as an option for custom field type is such a glaring oversight, it's hard to overlook. Because of it, we have used all of our allowed custom fields. If I upgraded our service, it would ONLY be to get more fields. That isn't worth it. 

    Seriously -- FIX THIS AND FIX IT NOW. 

    I'm dating other CRM's.

  • Just checking in to see how the development is going of the multiple selection / tick box / multiple choice custom field. It has been a requested feature for a number of years now and it looked like it was going to be developed in 2017. Keen to see where this is at. Thanks.

  • @Jonathan and @Maz do you have any news regarding the status of the multiple select drop down capability (and conditional attributes...)

    Any chance of a short term availability?

    I discovered insightly recently and was really pleased by its look and feel, but I am confused as to why this function is not yet available after years of users requesting it. Any OpenSource SW I have worked with does have this, even the simplest desktop databases coming with OpenOffice can handle that... 

    The integration with google-email, calendar and drive is also something most CRM, even OpenSource ones, offer...

    So it would be good to know if there is a short term plan to act on this or if I should follow Stacy's dating tour.
