Unable to see Google Drive files

I've logged in under my Google Apps domain but when I click on the Google Drive icon under Files (for a contact, org, project etc) it hangs and never returns any files or folders, even though there is definitely content there. How do I troubleshoot this?

Cheers

Mark

  • Having the same issue. Dropbox, Box and One Drive all work fine but, not Google Drive. I am set up under a Google Apps account as well.

  • Same here, 6 weeks later. Has anyone found a solution?

  • Any idea what's going on here? I have a similar (if not the same exact) bug trying to attach Gdrive files to an opportunity...I click the Gdrive icon and it returns the little pulsing loading bars but doesn't actually load Google Drive, and it actually causes the entire page to become unresponsive.

  • Hi Kathleen, this is a part of the same error. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

  • Has there been a resolution to this issue?  When I attempt to link a file to a new opportunity I get prompted to enter my google apps domain and once I've entered the domain and click login, nothing happens.  The screen refreshes, and prompts me to enter the domain again, and I am never able to see my google drive files.

  • Hi Angela:

This was resolved but we're happy to look into this for you. Can you share a screenshot of the Google Drive log in page that you are seeing?

  • Hi,

We have exactly the same problem now with two different accounts (one under the domain lunnplus.dk and one under the domain esj.dk). In both situations we can click the little Google Drive Link Icon in Insightly and then there starts an never ending process with loading Google Drive. We think it worked fine few days ago. Can You help?

We can link to Microsoft Drive without problems.

I have tested both with Chrome (on Windows 10) and with Microsoft Browser. Also tested with Chrome on iPad - same problem.

I have tested with both internal user (=username inside the domain) and external user (=username outside yhe domain).

Things behave exactly as described above: "I click the Gdrive icon and it returns the little pulsing loading bars but doesn't actually load Google Drive, and it actually causes the entire page to become unresponsive." If I press refresh, the page reloads and I can start the linking process again without any results.

  • Yes, thank you, please see below. When I enter my domain, and click login, the screen refreshes and prompts me to enter my domain again.

  • I am still not able to link the files.  I logged out and back in, and that didn't help.  I've tried to link files in several different locations within our Insightly account and I'm not able to link files anywhere.  I've also checked with other team members and they are unable to link files as well.  I'm logged into my google account, and I have google drive open, and Insightly just isn't allowing me to access it. This is a crucial part of our process and need for Insightly.  Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • i have just done this for lunnplus.dk

I have cleaned the Chrome browser for cookies and other things.

Then I have logged into Insightly again.

The problem is still the same as before.

  • Hi,

I have just tested today again. We have changed nothing in our setup, but the Google drive linking now works again for the two accounts lunnplus.dk and esj.dk SO FAR SO GOOD!

Indeed the Gmail Gadget for Insightly now shows up in all our Google Mail systems - and this is not ok, because this gadget sends too much noice into Insightly when our unexperienced Insightly users click the gadget.

Hope that You can tell us how to remove the gadget.

Today june 12 - administrator has removed the Insightly App from lunnplus.dk in Google Admin Panel and the Gmail gadget has now disapeared. So we think all problems are solved now - if not I will let You know.

  • Unfortunately, it is still not working for us.  I am now able to enter my domain, and it accepts the domain, but when I click the google drive icon, they system starts "loading Google Drive" but gets stuck in that process.

  • Good Afternoon.  I tested again today, and I was able to link the file.  I'm not sure what you did, but it worked.  Thank you.

  • Hi Gen Smith:

Can you check to see that you have allowed Insightly permission to access your Google Drive? To do this in Google, you will go to My Account> Sign-in and Security> Connected apps & sites> Manage Apps. Insightly should be listed under your Apps as having access to your Google Drive.

Your Insightly User email address should also match the Google Drive email address you are working with.

Let me know what you find, thanks!

  • It was at one time, but it is not now, and I am once again experiencing the same problem as Kathleen recorded on October 19 "I click the Gdrive icon and it returns the little pulsing loading bars but doesn't actually load Google Drive, and it actually causes the entire page to become unresponsive."  Once again I cannot link my files.  It worked when we initially set up the app.  Then it stopped working a couple of weeks ago, and then it started working again on June 10th, and now it's not working again.

  • When I try to link a file from my google drive to an organization, the screen will freeze. I Have to refresh the page so I can keep working. It has been like this for a couple of days.

  • Lyla,

I've tried it in the google chrome browser as well as Safari.

Another interesting note - when this problem occurs, (when Insightly fails to open my Google Drive folders to allow me to link a new file), Insightly still receives updates to other files that are already linked to Google Drive.

  • Hi Lyla,

It's still not working for us.  Insightly is still not in my list of connected apps for Google Drive.  Do I need to manually add Insightly to Google Drive?

  • Hi there:

It looks like you need authorize Insightly's access. To reauthorize Insightly's access to your Google Drive you'll need to remove Insightly from your Google Apps store and re-add. When  you re-add Insightly you will be asked to allow full access. Let us know the outcome!
