task filtering

I desperately need more options for filtering task.  I have emailed about this before and there is nothing new yet.  I see many post about being able to filter task better.  I can filter by a city or zip code or id status.  But I need to be able to do a secondary filter on that so when I am making calls in a certain area I can filter it by last task so I can see who needs to be called on.  This is the whole point of a crm.  You can only currently do that with last event.  This isn't very helpful because that basically creates an appointment or time slot on my calendar, and there is also not a place to put any notes.  I really really need this or I am going to stop using insightly.

  • I just asked this question by e-mail and the reply was "please post it in our forum". so here goes:

    it's crucial to be able to filter tasks otherwise than by defining new categories. every project has its tasks and as soon as there are many tasks in a list it becomes hard to manage. so you need to be able to show only the tasks which have to do with the layout for instance. or only the tasks related to the hardware.

    I'm sorry at this time you can't add a Tag to Tasks. We do have a suggestion for Tags on Tasks here that I would urge you to vote on. :)

  • Yes guys, this is seriously a must for any business

    The task filtering is completely useless, particularly for a user who is creating many tasks for other users.

    We will need to move to a new system soon unless this changes as we can no longer use Insightly for task management. Asana and Mavenlink both do this better.

    When can we expect something will be done about this. It's not like it's a major rebuild. . . .

    This is becoming quite a frustrating matter as task management is THE LIFE BLOOD of business people.

    The ability to add tags to task would be of great help and would resolve a lot of problems. After being told that this is a high priority item, i'm not really seeing much change.

    When can we expect improvement?

  • I can see these requests are quite old, has anything been done about this?  I'd like to be able to export tasks and I'd like to be able to filter tasks, perhaps to set dates and work on those

  • I have been posting for many years asking for custom fields and tags for tasks but nothing has been done.  Please work on this soon!

    A lot of these features can be found in our New Insightly CRM experience. It's not just a new look, it comes with a number of enhancements that we hope help make it easier to use Insightly and review your data. Some things to look forward to are:

    - Real-time notifications will provide an in-app message. You can view notifications and export requests directly from the bell icon.

    - More views options (Grid, Compact, and Kanban view)

    - Blade interface gives you the ability to view records from your list quickly

    Any admin can switch to the new view layout by going to System Settings > Switch your team to the new Insightly User ExperienceFrom there tick off the box and save your settings. You'll be logged out and prompted to log in with our new login page.

    Please note: Once you switch between Insightly Classic and the New Insightly Experience, you will not be able to switch back manually.
