  • Jessica I have used this software for years now and until recently it worked for me but I guess.... Then I would like to ask you to please add both Categories and responsible user to the main Opportunities page when in a filter ASAP.  If you are a sales organization with more then 1 salesmen and you have a sales manager who wants to see projects from his team at a glance it is nice to see them from the main screen so they don't having to click into each one opportunity individually.  The current setup is slow and not a good use of time.

  • Hi Robert, thank you so much for posting!

We haven't disabled the categories that are available for opportunities. If you're not seeing them, have you checked that you've enabled your categories in your System Settings to show for opportunities?

You can do so by going to System Settings > Categories.

From there, you can check that the categories you've created are available for opportunities by looking for the check marks under the opportunities section.

If you're still not seeing them, let us know!

  • @Robert - We haven't made any changes to our filters. It's by design that the categories don't appear when the results of a custom filter appear in a list view.

What you're seeing is the software behaving normally. If you use the main filter to filter between "Open/Closed/All" opportunities, you'll still see the categories. It's only when using custom filters, that the results change.

    I hope this helps!

  • @Jessica.

Just curious.  According to your response below you said its by design that it doesnt show.  Well, it used to be there, then it was gone, now after me complaining to you and you saying its never been there, its back!  What is going on???

  • @Robert - We just did a production push for the software a few hours ago and it was added.

I tested it on my end after confirming with a senior support staff member that it was not there previously and has now been added.

Yay! Looks like you've got what you were wanting! Glad things worked out for you!

  • Hi There.   I am a new user with Insightly.  I am not seeing the categories on the Main Opportunities Dashboard.   I have it set to "All Opportunities" one of the standard views.   When I click into an individual Opportunity the Category I have chosen shows up.   I've checked that it's enabled also under settings.   What I am doing wrong?   I like the idea that the categories just show up on the main screen and then I could just click on one to filter by it.

  • @Robert - I took a look at your account and it appears the reason those categories weren't showing is because you had a filter that was showing only results that didn't have categories.

Closing the filter will show you that the categories still remain.

    I hope this helps!
