Auto Save

When you are changing information on a contact, note, organization, or anything or that nature it does not auto save. On more than one occasion one of my agents has done lengthy notes and lost them because they failed to click the save note button before they got out of the program. Is there a way we can add that in?

  • Hi Monique:

This is not something that is on our current road map to be added. The good news is that development is always happening here at Insightly and you may see this or something like it in the future.

  • @Lyla T - is there any public view into what's on the roadmap? Even high-level, or the next 3 sprints, or Q3/Q4?

  • Hi Forrest:

Our resources and priorities can shift quickly so we are reluctant to publish a road map with specific release dates. The Community is where customers hear first when beta becomes available or a feature is newly released.

We do have a Heroes Program that allows our Heroes quarterly sessions with one of our Customer Success Managers and our Product Team to have discussions about existing features and what's to come for those who are interested in applying :)

  • @monique and @Forrest Gibson - Insightly told me that if you vote (to the left of monique's name - click on the 'up' arrow button), then there is the possibility that the engineering team may consider this as a new feature. If you work for a company that's using Insightly - please have your peers vote and perhaps we can get this put in as a new feature. Thank you!

  • why not at least have it set up if you forget to click save you get a generic pop up asking if you want to leave the page without saving entry

  • Hi,

This is causing frustration here too.

Someone wrote me: "There are times when you "naturally" press enter - and instead of automatically saving you lose the entire note/Opp/whatever you were working on."

Indeed frustrating. times have changed and "auto save" is a feature everywhere on the cloud, so I really think you should keep up with these "cyber habits".

    Thanks!

  • I fully agree, I think auto-save is an essential element that is needed in insightly. Not only in emails but anywhere where you can input clarifying text such as notes, tasks, etc.

One of the main benefits of Insightly is that you can record all of your activities in one system. The risk of loosing my notes during a meeting now requires me to write my meeting notes in a different application and then afterwards copy it into insightly. This is clearly sub-optimal.

I would therefore definitely suggest to include this functionality as almost any other application has it nowadays (apple notes, gmail, etc.). Benefit for Insightly is then that you can also promote your product as a more complete solution for your users- also suitable to make meeting notes, etc.

Can we vote for this somewhere?

  • This in indeed a HUGE problem. I've just lost 30 minutes of work after hitting save on a note I'd been typing in 2 sittings, and because I had been automatically signed out during the pause between the two sessions, I lost everything. Crazy.  And this has happened before. Why on Earth would it not auto save the way Google Docs does, or any other SaaS product? This is enough of a problem to make me want to look for another solution to give to our growing sales team if there's no commitment to fixing it.
