WorkflowAutomation filter by past date

HI, I don't seem to be able to have a workflow activate by selecting a date on a custom date.  I tried typing in "48 Weeks Ago"  but it just doesn't pick up, and goes to an incorrect date in the future.  I am trying to set up an automated email to remind contacts that maintenance is due for their asset whic has been sold to them.   What am I doing wrong?  Cheers, Helen.

  • Hello Helen,

I don't think workflow automation is a good option to activate from custom date ranges as the workflow automation would be triggered once the record is edited/created AND fits the criteria.

For example, say you created the contact last year and when you created the contact you inputted the date for annual maintenance. Workflow automation will not trigger an email 48 weeks later unless you update that record +48 weeks later. That's the first step for building your workflow automation: triggered on creation, first edit or every edit.

You could potentially use the delay function to send the email, but I'd recommend using Mailchimp Marketing Automation to create more advanced rules on triggering emails on specific date ranges.

    Thank you,
