Problem updating organisation

I'm having trouble updating existing irganisation custom fields. New additions are all fine, and I'm not sure how widespread the issue is.

My running theory is that it might be done to different owners on the organisation - an example I know isn't working has a different owner id than is being sent with the API request. I can't find any documentation anywhere that states definitively whether or not this is possible - i.e. one owner updating a record owned by another user through the api?

 

Can I get some clarification on this before I look for other issues?
