This article contains information pertaining to updates that occur to the Insightly mobile application for both iOS and Android. To gain access to the enhancements detailed below, users will be required to update the application via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Updates will automatically sign users out of the mobile application; users will be required to sign into the application to access functionality after the update is complete.
August 4.0 Enhancement
As of August 2020, the Insightly mobile application (for both iOS and Android) are moving to online only; therefore, all Insightly data will no longer be stored on a user's mobile device. This enhancement provides four major improvements to the application:
Load times are significantly decreased as users will no longer be required to wait through loading screens as the mobile application checks for and downloads updates made by users.
The mobile application's response speed has also been improved; the ability to scale to CRM record data sets in the millions (with no synchronization required) means that users of the mobile application can access their critical data much faster. Since the data is stored online, constant synchronization is no longer necessary.
Insightly’s Mobile Application offers businesses the flexibility to assign different roles within CRM and set restrictions so the user roles only see customer data that is relevant to them. With advanced permissions, users will only see what is applicable to their user role.
Additionally, with all data stored online rather than on a user's mobile device, the device no longer acts as a local database for information.
Dashboards are now available to users of the mobile application. All Dashboards and Dashboard Cards available on the web application of Insightly CRM are now accessible, with the full fidelity of the desktop experience although, all Dashboard Cards are read-only on the mobile application.
This enhancement provides a more uniform experience between the Insightly web and mobile applications, creating a more cohesive Insightly experience.
