Insightly has restructured its administrative privileges into specific scopes corresponding to different roles within a client's organization.
Should a user profile not have the necessary permissions to manage certain system settings, those options will still be visible to users with the appropriate profile. However, any attempt to access these settings will redirect the user to the main system settings page, accompanied by a notification stating, "You do not have permission to access this system setting."
The permissions detailed below apply to various sections of the System Settings, with the exception of 'Manage Interface Customization,' which relates to menu options within Insightly objects. A profile with 'Manage Interface Customization' but without 'Manage Data Definitions' cannot edit, create, or delete objects or fields. They can, however, manage layout rules, custom buttons, and page layouts for each object.
The 'Administrator' profile includes all the permissions below, allowing administrators to create custom profiles with specific administrative privileges. Profiles with any of the Administrative Permissions will display the 'System Settings' menu option to users with that profile in their User menu. The Administrative Permissions are available under System settings > Security > Profiles.
