Comments tab is available within the user interface for each enabled object when comments are enabled via System Settings. The system also supports additional reply comments. Parent comments will be displayed in descending order with the latest on top, while child comments will be shown in ascending order with the latest at the bottom. This feature is only available for Professional and Enterprise Plans.
- Comments tab features a count badge displaying the number of comments and replies, aggregating both parent and child comments.
- File attachments in comments will be rendered similarly to the Insightly Service comment system.
- Comments can only be edited or deleted by the comment owner or an admin.
To use Comments tab:
Go to the specific object (eg-Contact) that you want the comments tab to be enabled for. From System Settings > Objects, checkmark the Enable Comments box.
Go back to the object eg - Contact from the left nav and open the record that you would want to add comments for and select the Comments tab.
Add a comment by typing @ symbol and the first few letters of the user’s name, then selecting the user from the dropdown. Add the comment and save it by clicking ‘Add Comment’ button.
The mentioned user will receive an email notification.
When any new comment is added, it will increment the count on the Comments tab badge.
Comments can be edited or deleted via the 3 dot menu.
When the user replies back to your comment, replies are displayed in nested format under the comment, with the oldest reply at the top and the newest reply at the bottom.
