How to create Xero invoice drafts from opportunities or projects

  1. Click the Xero subtab on an opportunity or project that’s linked to a Xero contact.
  2. Click the Create Invoice Draft button.

  3. Enter and select the invoice information and click the Create Invoice Draft button. If the appropriate Xero contact does not appear in the Contact list, you’ll need to click the Cancel button and create a new contact using the Create Xero Contact button on the previous page.  (You'll need to set up inventory items in Xero to select from Xero's Item list, and Xero will always display archived inventory items in Insightly.)
  4. The new invoice will appear with a status of “Draft.” Once it is approved in Xero, it will be updated in Insightly. Click the View button to open the draft in Xero.
