August 2020

Mobile

As of August 2020, Insightly’s mobile application for Android and iOS will be moving to online only, which means your Insightly data will no longer be stored on your device.

Four major improvements are included in this update: Increased Speed, Enhanced Security, Dashboards, and Better Cohesiveness. Learn more.

New Features

  • Lead Conversion - Validation Rules: Added a setting that allows users to enable or disable running Validation Rules prior to Lead conversion.

If this setting is checked, Insightly will check any Validation Rules that have been setup for Leads. If the Validation Rules are not all valid, the Lead Edit page will open displaying the validation errors present instead of the Lead Conversion page. Learn more.

  • Marketing - A/B and Multivariant Testing: A/B and Multivariant Test Emails allow users to send different versions of an Email to different groups of Prospects with the goal of understanding what draws a Prospect's attention most effectively.

A Multivariant Test Email allows you to test up to three variables, with up to eight variations, in a single email test campaign. Learn more.

An A/B Test Email allows you to test one variable, like the subject line or send time, with up to three variations. Learn more.
  • Marketing - Form Submission Report: After a Prospect has filled out and submitted a Form, you can review their activity through the Form Submission Report.

This data will help users determine which Prospects have interacted with and submitted Forms to identify and target serious Prospects. Learn more.

This report will contain the following fields by default: Form Submission ID, Visitor ID, Prospect Name, Database Action, Date of Submission, Visitor IP Address, Referrer, and Form Data.

  • Form Submission Report - Visitor Visit Activity: Users can now see if Prospects visited other web pages during their Form Submission browsing session.

Analyze this data to understand what is attracting Prospects' attention and whether their activity is beneficial or detrimental to your Form’s goal. Learn more.

  • Journeys - Relative Dates: Journeys now support relative dates when creating a check step for Prospects.

Use this feature to setup a relative date for the check to occur. For example, to setup a check that reviews a Prospect's activity with an Email and sends them a second Email in one week based on the result, rather than choosing a specific date, such as September 15th, 2020. Learn more.

  • Bulk Editing - Search: All Bulk Edit pages will now allow users to find fields using a search bar. Use this feature to quickly find a specific field rather than scrolling through a substantial list of available fields. Learn more.

  • Sidebars - Search: Custom Objects are now searchable in the Email Sidebars of the Google Add-On and Microsoft Outlook. This update allows users access to any Custom Objects they have access to for review.

  • CRM and Marketing - Sharing Options: In addition to sharing List Views and Dashboards with everyone or just yourself, users can now share with users based on their assigned role or sub role. Learn more.

Use this feature to share important records with relevant stakeholders rather than the entire company. Sharing with a role will share the data with any subordinate roles as well, which will allow them to see and edit the record.

This sharing option is only applicable to instances with Advanced Permissions enabled. Learn more.

  • SPAM - Form Submissions: Insightly will now automatically detect and reject any Form Submissions that are identified as SPAM. Use this feature to block unsolicited submissions sent in bulk.

To detect SPAM, Insightly will check the IP Address and the Prospect. If there are 5 form submissions within the past 5 minutes from the same combination of IP Address and Prospect, Insightly will return a HTTP 500 error and the Form Submissions will be discarded. This occurs even if the Prospect is blank or null. Learn more.

  • SPAM - Finish Actions: Insightly will now automatically detect and reject any triggered Finish Actions that are the result of SPAM. This check occurs for all Finish Action sequences across all objects.

To detect SPAM, Insightly will check the IP Address and the Prospect. If there are 5 Finish Actions triggered within the past 5 minutes from the same combination of IP Address and Prospect, Insightly will return a HTTP 500 error and the Finish Actions will not fire. This occurs even if the Prospect is blank or null.

For example, if a Prospect clicks a redirect link 6 times, the Finish Action will be identified as SPAM and will not execute.

Finish Actions can be used to follow several Prospect interactions including redirect links, Hosted File downloads, Form Submissions, and List Email clicks and opens. Learn more.
